Bob Kramer Double-Cut Sharpening Steel

Bob Kramer Double-Cut Sharpening Steel

Certified as a Master Bladesmith by the American Bladesmith Society, Bob Kramer is one of the only Master Bladesmiths in the world specializing in kitchen cutlery. Put simply, Kramer is King of the Kitchen Knife. As such, Bob Kramer has seen the knife from every angle-as a chef, a professional knife sharpener, and a Master Bladesmith. Although he is most widely recognized for his blades, Bob is also an expert on sharpening. In that spirit, he has collaborated with Zwilling to create the Kramer by Zwilling sharpening collection. In order to maximize the performance of any knife, it is very important that the edge be properly cared for. Retooling your knives' edges by hand may seem daunting to a beginner, but with Kramer's help many describe the experience as relaxing and gratifying. Keeping your blades sharp not only makes the cook's most important tool easier to use, sharpening makes knives safer.Regular, proper honing with this steel can forestall the need to do major sharpening. The trick-and this is key-is to hone while the knife is still performing well, because by the time you notice that the knife is getting dull, honing is useless. Edge maintenance is a preventive measure: It helps keep sharp knives sharp. Use this easy tool to maintain the edge between sharpenings. 12" l. Made in Japan.Shop all Bob Kramer Carbon Steel >

Madeira Paddle Board

Madeira Paddle Board
$19.95

This beautiful board is one of our favorite new additions to our collection. Madeira's paddle board is constructed of one of the most popular woods in the world because of its versatility, function and beauty-plantation teak. Commonly used in outdoor furniture, yachts and spa equipment, weather-resistant teak is also perfect for use in the kitchen. Teak's tight grains and natural coloration make it a highly attractive cutting board material, both for aesthetic and durability purposes. The natural oils in this tropical hardwood allow it to repel moisture, warping, and microbes. This cutting board originates from one of the largest teak plantations in the world, located in South America. The name "plantation teak" refers to the sustainability of this raw material, as it is farmed using responsible forestry practices. Not only is the wood sustainable, but Madeira has crafted this cutting board by utilizing the remnants from other teak products that are typically discarded in the manufacturing process. Thus, Madeira is almost completely eliminating any potential waste of this precious material. The beautiful, edge-grain teak board is perfect for entertaining, cheese platters, serving or chopping fruits and vegetables. Durable enough for everyday use, teak is also gentle on your knives.
