Kyocera Ceramic Sharpening Steel
Lightweight and easy-to-use steel features a highly efficient ribbed surface for re-sharpening and a smooth surface for honing. Kyocera's ceramic sharpening rods are made of advanced ceramic, a material close in hardness to diamond. When your steel knife or cutting tool is dull, use the ribbed side to create a finely ribbed texture on the cutting edge. Then use the smooth surface to hone or finish the edge. If intense sharpening is not required, then honing should be sufficient to maintain a sharp edge. Not intended for use on ceramic knives or scissors.
