Easy Thanksgiving Dishes for Your Party
Are you planning a party for friends and family this Thanksgiving? If so, perhaps your party will be more of an informal gathering rather than a multi-course feast consisting of Thanksgiving traditions like turkey and sweet potatoes. That’s great. Parties can be every bit as enjoyable when you’re with the right people.
We want your party to include some delicious foods that will not take you a long time to prepare. To that end, we’ve listed several different suggestions below for easy-to-prepare Thanksgiving dishes. Though we haven’t included specific recipes here, there are plenty of places online to find them. You might check out AllRecipes.com or the Food Network’s website.
Cornbread Loaf/Muffins
Cornbread is one of the easiest breads to make, and it’s delicious too! Loaves tend to be more moist and less crumbly than muffins, so keep that in mind when making your choice. A basic recipe consists of cornmeal, milk, all-purpose flour, baking powder, a bit of salt and sugar, and perhaps an egg. It’s as simple as combining all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, letting the batter rest a few minutes, and putting it in the oven.
Sausage and Cheese Balls
A great option for appetizers or quick snacks is the sausage and cheese ball. This is one of the easiest recipes in the world. You simply combine ground sausage, cheddar cheese, and your favorite spices in a mixing bowl. Then form small balls, place them on a cookie sheet, and bake them for 15 minutes at 400°.
Easy Salad Skewers
Another great appetizer or snack is the delectable salad skewer. This is the easiest of our recipes so far. You need grape tomatoes, cubed mozzarella or another favorite cheese, fresh basil leaves, lettuce, and any spices you think would enhance the flavor. Simply use large party toothpicks to create your own skewers with the assembled ingredients. Sprinkle the completed skewers with a bit of salt and olive oil, and you are ready to go.
Green Bean Casserole
If you want your party to be a bit more substantial in terms of its food offerings, consider a green bean casserole. This long-standing family favorite is incredibly easy to make and tasty at the same time. The standard recipe includes cut green beans, russet potatoes, a can of condensed cream of chicken soup, and your favorite cheese. You combine all of the ingredients in casserole dish and cook at 350° for about an hour.
Turkey Pot Pie
Lastly, you can make a delicious turkey entrée by putting together your own turkey pot pie. It’s not as complicated as it sounds if you are willing to use a prepackaged pastry crust from your grocery store. You’ll need two pie crusts, cooked turkey, cream of chicken soup, a bit of cheddar cheese, frozen mixed vegetables, and a bit of salt and pepper. Line a pie dish with the crust, combine all of your other ingredients in a bowl, pour those ingredients into the crust, cover the pie with the second crust, and bake in the oven for about 40 minutes at 350°.
Pumpkin Smoothie
What would a Thanksgiving party be without something great to drink? You can make an excellent pumpkin smoothie in under 5 minutes by combining frozen pumpkin purée, milk, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon in the blender. It’s a good idea to soften the purée by putting it in the microwave for a minute or two prior to blending.
With just a little bit of time and effort, you can create simple and delicious foods for your Thanksgiving party. Let the feasting begin!
