Being a #maharashtrian from #bombay or #mumbai ( as its now called) #ganeshchaturthi has been the most prominent #indian #festival in our household besides #diwali . When I moved to the states it didn't take long before i met people of different faiths from bombay who'd been raised in a similar environment as me. For us , the #ganpati festival starts the Indian festival season with positivity & joy & brings #indians together to celebrate every festivity that follows for the rest of the year! #India

After a hectic work week, we left the #office and decided to drive aimlessly around #austin till we happened upon a place to eat. Our tiki tour lasted about 15 minutes when we logged into #opentable & the first #restaurant that popped up was @foreigndomestic .So, we made a #reservation , headed over, got seated & ordered as many items as our rumbling stomachs dictated.Lo & behold, we were blown away! For me the #zucchini #mango & #chilli salad really hit the spot with childhood memories of #summer in #bombay #mumbai came flooding back & i was reminded of days when we devoured raw #mangos sprinkled with #chillipowder in sweltering #indian #temperatures . The #gruyere poppers were a refined & #elegant dish & those #funnel #cakes with #blackpepper #icecream were monumental! #eater #eateratx #eateraustin #zagat #zagatatx #zagataustin #texas #dessert #tomatoes

We heard about @streetatx , the pan #asian themed #restaurant through the #grapevine so we thought we'd head there for #dinner on a #Thursday #night . Our meal was interesting, in that, we got to try a bit of #thailand , a bit of #vietnam & a bit of #japan (#sushi not shown) & we hope to return so we can sample fare from other asian regions #eater #eateraustin #eateratx #zagat #zagatatx #zagataustin
